As you can see, the new SHINE website is up and running smoothly. This site is where you can find information about SHINE, the gigs they are doing, the members themselves, and what is coming up for the group in the future. The SHINE Show
The SHINE show was a huge success! Thank you for anyone who came. We hope to have another one in the future. We love our fans!
Future Gigs
SHINE has many gigs booked for them during the summer. Lots of them are out of town gigs, so the group is excited that they get to travel. SHINE will be going to Gliechen and then to Panorama for a special Canada Day Show. They even have the pleasure of performing for the Chinese Cultural Community and the Red Cross at the Jubilee for their lovely tribute to the victims of the recent earthquake overseas.
School Tours
One of the group’s favorite gigs is what we call “School Tours”. This is where SHINE travels to 3 -5 high schools in one day, and performs for the students who are interested in the arts, and may be interested in joining the Youth Singers of Calgary program. After each performance there is a question and answer period where the students can ask the SHINE members anything they want about the arts and the performance business. The members even get to answer question about their future plans and future careers in the music industry. It is a great experience for the group and the students. Youth Singers Tour ’09
SHINE has been asked to accompany two other divisions of the Youth Singers of Calgary on a cruise tour to Florida and the Bahamas. We will have the opportunity to perform at Disney World, and on the cruise ship. There may even be a chance that SHINE gets to compete in a performance competition on the cruise. The group is extremely excited! Wish us luck!!
